Three new critical RPC flaws in Windows were found and
acknowledged yesterday by Microsoft Corp. Two of the identified
vulnerabilities are buffer overruns that could allow hackers
to run malicious code on a vulnerable machine and the third
is a denial of service flaw that would result in the failure
of the RPCSS service.
These newly identified flaws are very similar to the Lovsan/Blaster
worm from a month ago. According to Microsoft, the two newly
discovered buffer overruns are rated critical
and affect Windows NT 4.0, 2000, XP and Windows Server 2003.
The denial of service flaw only affects Windows 2000.
