Finjan Secure Web Gateway
Solutions For Enterprises

Data Leakage Prevention

Data is one of the most valuable assets of today’s enterprises. Critical business data, intellectual property and private information are spread throughout the organization on servers and desktops. Once the data is transmitted in the network, it is at a high risk of being misused or abused. It is therefore critical for organizations to inspect their outbound data traffic to prevent confidential information from leaking out. Misuse or abuse of data can result in serious business damage or (in case of loss of personal healthcare or financial information), repercussion for non-compliance with various governmental rules and regulations.

Finjan’s patented active real-time content inspection prevents data leakage. Inspection of HTTP/HTTPS communication and deep analysis of various content types enable the detection and prevention of confidential data from leaving the network. Both intentional (as a result of malicious activity) and unintentional data leakages are prevented.

Integrated Data Leakage Prevention

Finjan Data Leakage Prevention enables the use of various dictionaries and lists for detecting sensitive data in transit. Administrators can set policies based on dictionaries/lists containing words or formats (such as customer or employee information with names, addresses, social security numbers and other identity-related information) that should be protected. These sensitive data - such as credit card information and patient information - are prevented from intentionally or unintentionally exiting the network.

Example of setting policy to prevent confidential information leaking out

“Trojans phoning home” Communication Detection

One of the sophisticated Crimeware tactics in use is “Trojans phoning home”. Once a Trojan has stolen data from a PC, it connects with its Crimeserver to send the data to the cybercriminal. Finjan Secure Web Gateway identifies outbound “Trojans phoning home” communication and blocks these communications from going out.

Regulatory compliance

One of the main risks for companies for not complying with various applicable rules and regulations is the intentional (data theft) or unintentional (data leakage) loss of their confidential data such as customer information, credit card numbers, patient data, and employee information. These kinds of data breaches can lead to severe repercussions for both the organizations themselves as well as for their executive management.

To protect enterprises, Finjan's Data Leakage Prevention enables enterprises to set up compliancy lists that include PCI, HIPAA, GLBA, SOX, CISP, FISMA, and governmental regulations. You can read more on how Finjan helps organizations to be compliant with regulations on this compliance page.

True content type detection

Finjan Secure Web Gateway identifies content types by their true content payload, not just by their file extensions. Utilizing these True Content Type detection capabilities, Finjan Secure Web Gateway can prevent selected file types from leaking out or being downloaded by users.

Interoperability with other Data Leakage Prevention products

Since your organizations may already have dedicated Data Leakage Prevention products to detect unintentional data theft by insiders, Finjan’s Secure Web Gateway supports ICAP standards to ensure interoperability with 3rd party DLP solutions.

Policy-based Management

Finjan’s Secure Web Gateway solution enables organizations to setup up data leakage policies, using granular rules per user and per user-groups.
